The Science Behind IV-7 Disinfectant
IV-7 Ultimate Germ Defense is Powered by Patented SDC Technology, developed by Pure Bioscience.
SDC (silver dihydrogen citrate) is an "intelligent biocide". SDC uses a "Trojan Horse" method to attack germs. Bacteria are attracted to citric acid as a food source. SDC enters the microorganism, binds to the DNA and destroys the microbe's DNA and protein structure. SDC also destroys the microbe's outer membrane. This dual attack (from the inside out and the outside in ) makes SDC a powerful weapon against germs.
Unlike conventional products, the SDC gives residual protection - a tremendous advantage over run-of-the-mill antibacterial products.
SDC is non-toxic, non-caustic, colorless, odorless, tasteless and does not produce toxic fumes. While SDC is highly toxic to bacteria, fungus and virus it is non-toxic to humans and animals. Based on the EPA toxicity categorization of antimicrobial products that ranges from Category I (high toxicity) down to Category IV, at use dilutions, SDC is rated in the lowest toxicity category, IV, while traditional disinfectants fall into Categories I and II.
The science behind IV-7 Ultimate Germ Defense™ is well-established and has been verified by third party testing. Its active ingredient has been approved for use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and is the first new antimicrobial registered with the EPA in the past 30 years.
It has been known for centuries that silver has disinfecting properties. Silver was used as a germicide as long ago as Greek and Roman times. The active ingredient in IV-7 Ultimate Germ Defense™ is silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC), a patented, electrolytically-generated source of ionic silver which is stabilized in citric acid.
This formulation took almost a decade to develop and patent.
